Yeah it's me... back from the dead. One of the reasons I heven't been around much (other than massive "real world" time eaters) is that I just seemed to have lost almost all interest in collecting of late. Evil Chris and I started collecting via interest in McF and our collection, though diversified somewhat over the years, still remains about 85% McF. However, the last thing we bought was a case of the mini-figures (from Kim), and before that I can't remember the last McF figure we bought... because we have almost zero interest in what they are making now.

On one hand our $budget doesn't "miss" the lack of collecting, but on the other it is very sad to look back and see how far off the cliff it has dropped: from buying 3 or 4 series a year (a full set to a case of each), to nothing so far in '06 (that I remember) except the mini-figs. Oh well, we vote/voice our opinions with our wallets, right?

As for Kim, Evil Chris and I have known and bought from Kim for about 10 years now (doing some serious KISS business especially back in the day!) and it really stinks to hear how f'ed up the situation has gotten that getting out of the business completely is actually an option on the table. As most others have said, I would love to see Kim diversify and continue on considering what a quality person he is, as is refleted in the top-notch business he runs.

I'll try to drop in here more b/c even if I'm not collecting as much that's no reason not to keep up with you guys... but man the "real world" is kicking my @ss these days! [img]confused.gif[/img]

well as for me I finally think Todd has lost his integrity and doesnt care as much as he did. I think the changes with the staff over these years has been to the detrement of the company. it used to be about the fans and it seems to have veered away away from that. as for the way they set up sales, I think it became grab every penny you can and screw the small guys. kind of the walmart way. I think McFarlane has lost the love and the drive for having the "attitude" and its passing down to the fans.

I in fact have no idea what the last product of McFarlane's I got.. I do remember my last two purchases that have been received, which were Davy Jones and then Sideshow's 12" Darth Vader SDCC exclusive.. I've been spending most my time and efforts with the misses in organizing the wedding and purchasing pieces for the new computer I'm building.. (AMD Athlon 64 2.4 GHz with 1GB DDR SDRAM at 400 MHz with a SATA 160 GB HD, DVD burner and rom, and a Geforce 7300 512MB PCI express video card with eventual upgrade to Dual cards in SLI mode and more ram)..

The next things I really have on my list are some more Sideshow stuff, possibly (eventually) joining the 501st by purchasing an armor kit to build (Those Star Wars geeks know what the 501st is and what I mean)..

Oh the very last thing I purchased was a 3.5" Vader's fist Trooper figure.. Like I said, I have dropped off collecting alot.. The only thing that remotely interests me from McFarlane is the Dragons.
